Fort Whoop-Up Exhibits

The Ranch Era

The last days of Fort Whoop-Up when it evolved into a ranch is exhibited. This ranch house exhibit, exhibit case artwork and text panels describe the start of the ranch era in southern Alberta and the demise of the Fort as a trading post.

Bull Teams

Large freight wagons on the trail between Fort Benton and Fort Whoop-Up were pulled by oxen yoked in teams of up to twenty per outfit.  These "bull teams" were run by bullwhackers.

Robe Trade

Types of trade that transpired at the Fort are exhibited.
